ASHLEY ROSE PITEK NURSE SCHOLARS FELLOWSHIP

The Ashley Rose Pitek Nurse Scholars Fellowship supports DNP study at the
M. Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing for APRNs and nurse executives committed to the care of children across the lifespan with spina bifida.

The Fellowship supports one full-time, part-time or flex student's tuition and fees for study in the post-master's track leading to the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree. Eligible Advanced Practice Nurses and Nurse Executives whose careers are committed to the care of patients with spina bifida are welcome to apply.

The student's DNP scholarly project must focus on critical aspects of spina bifida care that can be applied in practice and contribute to the improved care and quality of life of spina bifida patients across the lifespan and their families.

Application Process:

Our next applicant will be able to apply for the Summer 2025 Cohort. Only applicants with a demonstrated career interest in patients and families with spina bifida whose DNP project focuses on spina bifida will be considered and reviewed.

  • By March 1, 2025, the candidate must complete their Post-master's DNP application and upload a Fellowship Letter of Interest to the Application Portal.
  • For more information, contact Sandi Schultz, Doctoral Programs Assistant Director at sandra.schultz@villanova.edu or 610.519.4914.

About the Ashley Rose Pitek Nurse Scholars Fellowship:

Inspired by their daughter, Ashley Rose, Ray and Linda Pitek established the Fellowship to promote the care of spina bifida patients. Since the Fellowship was established in 2015, four Villanova DNP graduates have completed and implemented spina bifida-related projects. The fifth Fellow completed the program in 2022.
