Crozer-Chester Medical Center/Villanova University Nurse Anesthesia Program is fully accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA). The Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia (MSN) program received a 10-year accreditation in 2010. The Doctor of Nursing Practice - Nurse Anesthesia (DNP-NA) degree program (entry to practice) has been approved by the COA for Cohorts beginning in January 2019. The program accreditation visit formerly scheduled for October 2020 has been postponed until March 2021. The visit will be virtual with a subsequent on-site visit when permitted, and accreditation has been extended until October 2021.
Graduates are eligible to take the National Certification Exam (NCE) administered by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA). Graduates who pass the NCE are designated as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA).
