Terri Boyer, EdD, ’95 CLAS was appointed as the founding director of the Anne Welsh McNulty Institute for Women’s Leadership and an associate professor of Education and Counseling in 2017. An innovative leader in economic and social equity for women, Dr. Boyer previously served as executive director of the Center for Women and Work and as an assistant research professor at Rutgers University.

Dr. Boyer is an accomplished author who has published widely on educational and workforce equity, institutional reform for equity, women’s education and leadership, the effectiveness of equity programs, and assessment and teacher training. She is a skilled researcher who has secured substantial federal, state and private grant funds to support critical work on the issues of the advancement of women and gender equity. Known as an outstanding professor, Dr. Boyer has taught classes on working women in America, work-life balance, leadership development, youth and work, and career planning and development.

Dr. Boyer holds a doctorate in Education and a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration from the University of Alabama. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education from Villanova, and she received the Medallion of Excellence from the Department of Education and Counseling the year she graduated.

Danielle Ross

Danielle Ross, MA (she/her/hers)

Associate Director

Danielle Ross has been with the Anne Welsh McNulty Institute for Women’s Leadership since 2018. Her commitment to social equality and advocating for more inclusive models of leadership have guided her work over the last decade.

Danielle spent four years at Questex Media Group, a global multimedia and event firm in New York City working in client relations, data analytics and event management. Recognizing her passion for working in higher education, Danielle received her Masters of Arts in Higher Education and Student Affairs from the University of Connecticut where she specialized in facilitating high-impact leadership development initiatives and conducted research around the experience of students of color in campus involvement.

She served as the Assistant Director of Student Involvement and Leadership at Drexel University where she received recognition for her work in developing student-centered leadership programs and expanding service learning opportunities on and off campus.

Ingrid Lis

Ingrid Lis '22 CPS (she/her/hers)

Program Coordinator

Ingrid came to Villanova in August of 2018, joining the Office of University Advancement where she worked with Executive Directors for the Villanova Athletic Fund and Family Engagement & Philanthropy. During the pandemic, she volunteered to take on additional administrative responsibilities with the Office of Alumni Relations, and later served as Senior Administrative Assistant to the Associate VP for Alumni Relations.

Prior to Villanova, she spent 10 years in nonprofit human services, most recently serving as the Program Coordinator for the Volunteer English Program in West Chester, Pa., and as a Program Manager of Wings for Success, a volunteer-driven women’s workforce prep program. She is energized by the opportunity to promote the personal growth and professional development of women, and in particular members of immigrant and underserved communities.

Ingrid is a native of Nicaragua in Central America and a naturalized U.S. citizen, and she seeks to nurture environments full of opportunities to encounter and appreciate diversity as well as promote equity and inclusion of all viewpoints. Ingrid graduated from Villanova in December 2022 with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Service Administration and a minor in Leadership Studies, and has already begun graduate studies in Public Administration.

Lisa Dolling

Lisa M. Dolling, Ph.D.

Academic Fellowship Director

Teaching Professor of Philosophy,
Associate Dean, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences

Lisa Dolling has recently joined the Anne Welsh McNulty Institute for Women’s Leadership as the Academic Fellowship Director. She came to Villanova in fall 2021 after a full and rewarding career in both teaching and administration at such institutions as St. John’s University, Stevens Institute of Technology, Manhattanville College, and most recently, Rosemont College, where she served as Provost and Senior Vice President. During her time at St. John’s, Dr. Dolling successfully established and directed the program in Women’s Studies, as well as served as Executive Director of the University Honors Program; while at Stevens Institute, she had the honor of serving as the first woman Dean in the history of the institution. In addition to work in the fields of women philosophers and feminism, Dr. Dolling’s areas of research include philosophy of science (with specialization in the philosophy of quantum theory), aesthetics, and the history of the liberal arts. She holds a B.A. in philosophy from Manhattanville College, a certificate of completion from the Higher Institute of Philosophy, Leuven, Belgium, an M.A. from Fordham University, and M.Phil. and Ph.D. degrees from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, all in philosophy.

Maryalice Morro

Maryalice Morro, DNP, RN, NEA-BC (she/her/hers)

Women’s Leadership Development Certificate Program Coordinator

Maryalice is the Program Coordinator for the Anne W. McNulty Institute’s Women’s Leadership Development Certificate Program and led the multi-disciplinary team in creating this program. She spent 35 years in government, with 29 years on active duty in the United States Navy, serving around the world in support of peacetime, humanitarian and wartime missions.

Maryalice holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from Villanova University, MSN from the Catholic University of America, MS from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces and BSN from Villanova University. She is Board Certified by AACN as a Nurse Executive–Advanced.

She is adjunct faculty for The Citadel’s undergraduate nursing program, and several of Villanova University’s certificate programs. Maryalice serves on the Villanova Fitzpatrick College of Nursing Board of Consultors, Anne W. McNulty Advisory Board and Our Lady of Mercy Community Outreach Services Board of Directors.
