Dear Class of 2020

Two years ago, no one could have anticipated the significant impact COVID-19 would have on daily life and important milestones like your graduation. While we held an online Commencement ceremony, we have been planning to do more to celebrate the Class of 2020 and your achievements. Today, I am thrilled to personally invite you to return to campus from June 3-5, 2022, for a special Class of 2020 Celebration Weekend.

Throughout the weekend you can expect:

  • To stay with your classmates in the campus residence halls if you choose.
  • Social events and activities to reconnect with the friends, faculty and staff who were central to your Villanova experience.
  • An opportunity to walk across a stage in your cap and gown surrounded by your peers.
  • And more!

I hope you are able to return home to 800 Lancaster Avenue and celebrate with the Villanovans who made your time on campus so special. We look forward to recognizing the Class of 2020 and your achievements in June.

I ask that you continue to reference the Class of 2020 website for the latest updates, including a schedule of events and frequently asked questions. Should you have any additional questions, please reach out to uaevents@villanova.edu.

Sincerely,

Rev. Peter M. Donohue, OSA

Dear Class of 2020,

We are so excited to welcome you back to campus for the Class of 2020 Celebration Weekend on June 3-5! We appreciate your patience as we navigated the last several months, and please know that we are working hard to ensure you have a fun and memorable experience with your classmates and friends!

In July, we met with the Class of 2020 Student Advisory Committee to better understand what you and your peers wanted for the June 2022 celebration. Based upon that feedback, the weekend will include a little bit of graduation, senior week and reunion wrapped into one! Your weekend on campus will include a variety of activities, including:

  • Commencement Mass and Convocation
  • Senior Week events including "Senior Picnic" and the Blue & White Bash
  • A walk down memory lane: staying in the residence halls, sampling campus dining hall favorites, and more!
  • Several social activities for graduates and guests

The Class of 2020 webpage has been updated with the weekend’s schedule and more detailed information. We will continue to finetune and finalize details leading up to the June weekend celebration, so we encourage you to periodically check the Class of 2020 Celebration Weekend website for further information.

Finally, if you would like us to email you at a different email (we are using your villanova.edu address), please provide your updated information via this form so you can receive important information regarding the Celebration Weekend.

Thank you again for your patience as we continue to finalize our plans to celebrate you, the Villanova Class of 2020. We look forward to the celebrations ahead!

Sincerely,
The Villanova Commencement Planning Committee

Dear Graduates of the Class of 2020,

We are thinking of you!

All year, you have been on our minds, but this week especially you are in our thoughts. Currently, campus is very quiet as students finish up their exams tomorrow. Most students are headed home this week, but our senior class will remain, preparing for a mini-Senior Week and graduation. All this serves as a reminder of the traditions and moments that the Class of 2020 missed out on, and how we are dedicated to celebrating you, as a Class, on campus.

A few months ago, we surveyed the Class of 2020 student advisory committee to better understand what you and your peers want when we can safely gather. The feedback we received is that the most important aspect is being together, on campus, with your fellow members of the Class of 2020. Additionally, grouping you in with the Class of 2021 Commencement events didn’t feel right. Instead, we heard you were looking for a “Senior Week” of sorts and an opportunity to walk across a stage in your cap and gown.

With this in mind, we are pleased to share that June 3-5, 2022, we will hold WELCOME BACK WEEKEND for the Villanova Class of 2020! What is WELCOME BACK WEEKEND? It is a little bit of graduation, senior week and reunion wrapped into one! The exact details are still being finalized, but you can expect:

  • To stay with your classmates in the campus residence halls.
  • Social events and activities to reconnect with the friends, faculty and staff who were a part of your Villanova experience.
  • An opportunity, if you choose, to walk across a stage in your cap and gown surrounded by your peers.
  • And more!

These are our initial thoughts for the weekend based upon the feedback from the Class of 2020 Student Advisory Committee. We also made the decision to hold WELCOME BACK WEEKEND IN June 2022 as opposed to this June to hopefully allow for the most normal conditions with which to celebrate you and your classmates.

We will continue to finetune and adjust our plans and will continue to share updates with you as they are finalized. Thank you again for your patience as we develop our plans to celebrate you, the Villanova Class of 2020! We will be in touch soon with more details.

Sincerely,
The Villanova Commencement Planning Committee
