GET INVOLVED
Cabrini Alumni, Volunteers and Supporters Association (CAVS Association) is a group that provides opportunities for fellowship, service and events to keep the Cabrini community connected for years to come. All Cabrini University alumni, as well as faculty, staff and friends, are welcome and considered part of the CAVS Association. No dues are assessed for membership. Villanova University's Office of Alumni Relations is committed to supporting the association through volunteer management and one signature alumni gathering per year.
We are pleased to announce Tamara Conan ’00, ’20, Michael Gimpel ’84 and Hollie Havens '98 as inaugural co-chairs of the CAVS Association. Under Tamara, Michael and Hollie’s leadership, we anticipate a largely unified and inclusive Cabrini alumni experience, always keeping in mind the 18,000 graduates, faculty and staff of the beloved institution.
Hello Cabrini Family! I graduated with my B.S. in Special Education and Elementary Education in 2000. Returning to our cherished institution in 2020, I furthered my academic pursuits, earning a M.S. in Organizational Leadership. My professional journey has been guided by a deep sense of mission driven purpose. I have served as the Vice President of Healthy Kids Running Series and currently reside in the Development and Alumni Relations office at Saint Joseph's University.
Like so many of us, Cabrini became more than just a place of learning—it became my second home. I immersed myself in its vibrant community, serving as an Orientation Leader, a Student Ambassador for the Admissions Office, and a member of The Council for Exceptional Children. Additionally, I am a proud parent of a 2022 graduate!
Looking ahead, I am eager to uphold the enduring legacy of Cabrini University alongside fellow mission-driven alumni, cherished friends, esteemed faculty, and dedicated staff. Together, through the CAVS Association, we will continue to honor and advance the mission of Mother Cabrini and the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart.
I still remember arriving at Cabrini more than 40 years ago as a transfer student, coming up the amazing, tree-lined drive for the first time. I did not know a soul but that soon changed. I still count among my closest friends several people I met at Cabrini. Over the years we have attended weddings, funerals and other important lifetime events together. I’m sure many of you have had the same experience.
Beyond friendships, I found great opportunities on campus. I was a resident assistant in Counsel Hall and House 7. I was a member of Kappa Sigma Omega and the Society for the Advancement of Management. My Cabrini experience also instilled in me, for the first time, a sense of service to others. I was part of the first Project Appalachia, and subsequent Appalachia service trips as a student and alumnus. Because of all these uniquely Cabrinian experiences, I have continued to look for opportunities to contribute to my community. I've worked with several non-profits that helped low-income earners and today I volunteer with the Neurodiversity Resource Group at KPMG, where I work.
In addition to my B.S. in Business Administration (1984), I hold an MBA from La Salle University. At KPMG, I am a managing director in the Risk Advisory practice.
Through the inaugural Cabrini Alumni, Volunteers and Supporters (CAVS) Association, we have a fantastic opportunity to honor and celebrate our beloved institution, Mother Cabrini, the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart, and our friends and faculty. I am excited to collaborate with all of you to define and fulfill the mission and purpose of the CAVS Association.
Together, let’s continue to strengthen our bonds and support the values that make Cabrini so special.
As has been said by many others, Cabrini is a beautiful campus, but it's not the buildings that make us special, it's the people! I fell in love with Cabrini when I first walked on campus as a freshman in August 1994 and my love has only grown stronger over the years. As a Communications major, I was actively involved on the Loquitur serving as copy editor, reporter, and photographer as well as serving as SGA President and interning in the Marketing/ Communications Department.
Through my alumni involvement over the past 26 years, I have been blessed to meet and work alongside passionate alumni from every decade as well as amazing faculty and staff to create memorable events for our Cabrini family. As an active volunteer, I have served as the 1998 Class Agent, vice president of the Alumni Board of Directors, leader of the Camp Kismet Service Trip, founding member of Team Trivia and Commencement Flower Sale, alumni volunteer for Guatemala Service Trip, alumni mentor for COM majors, and served on various committees including Alumni Weekend, 50th Anniversary, Christmas at Cabrini, and Breakfast with the Bunny, to name a few. I currently co-manage the Cabrini Alumni & Friends Facebook group and in the past year I helped plan Alumni Weekend, Loquitur's 65 Anniversary Party, and an exclusive alumni & friends screening of "Cabrini." In 2011 I received the Martha Dale Award for Distinguished Service in honor of our beloved alumni director who was a wonderful mentor and friend.
In my professional career, I have worked for a variety of for-profit and non-profit organizations specializing in advertising, public relations, digital marketing, and special events. Currently I am the Marketing Events Specialist for Greenphire in King of Prussia that provides fintech solutions for clinical trials. I also volunteer with The Joy of Sox and serve as Alumnae Association President for my high school St. Basil Academy which closed in 2021.
As a co-chair of the inaugural the CAVS Association, I'm committed to preserving our legacy, honoring the mission of Mother Cabrini and the MSCs, building new memories with our Cabrini family, and keeping our Cabrini spirit alive and strong for many years to come!
