Insurance Requirements
All Villanova University sponsored organizations and external organizations or groups must provide evidence of liability insurance in order to hold their program or event in the Connelly Center. Please note internal events or programs for Villanova University departments are not required to maintain liability insurance.
A certificate of insurance must be provided to the Connelly Center prior to the commencement of the event in which Villanova University is listed as certificate holder as well as included as an “additional insured.” The certificate of insurance must provide the minimum limits set forth below. The certificate should also indicate whether the General Liability policy is written on a “claims made” or “occurrence” basis, and shall include an agreement to provide Villanova University with 30 days notice prior to cancellation or expiration of the insured’s policy.
Insurance requirements follow:
- a. Workers Compensation: Statutory (i.e. if required by law) Employer’s Liability: $100,000/500,000/100,000
- b. Commercial General Liability: $1,000,000 each occurrence
- c. Automobile Liability (if applicable): $1,000,000 each occurrence
Uninsured Organizations
Uninsured University sponsored organizations or external organizations are able to secure coverage for their events or programs via an insurance program available to Villanova University facility users/renters. The policy provides general liability insurance and protects both the facility user and Villanova University against claims by a third party who may be injured or experience property damage or loss as a result of participating in the event.
The web-based application to complete in order to secure the necessary insurance coverage can be found at the Bene Marc web site. After you register on the site and agree to terms of use, you will need to provide the Passcode that allows you to access Villanova University's insurance requirements and relevant information.
