Mission Statement
Recognizing and celebrating the diversity of student faith experiences, Campus Ministry partners with student groups and with the wider Villanova community to provide opportunities for worship, service and formation through and with the experience of Hispanic and Latin American Catholicism and other faith traditions.
Oramos
Mass in Spanish
Mass in Spanish is celebrated each Saturday during the academic year at 5:30 PM in St. Thomas of Villanova Church. Students, faculty, staff and all other Villanova community members are welcome to come and celebrate Mass with us. Learn more about Catholic worship at Villanova.
Liturgical Ministers
Students are invited to participate in the different liturgical ministry roles available at the Spanish Mass. Students may serve as lectors or in hospitality roles. Please contact Marisol Lezcano in Campus Ministry if you are interested in serving as a liturgical minister for the Spanish Mass.
Celebramos
Campus Ministry hosts a monthly Cena de la Convivencia. These dinners gather Villanovans to build community and celebrate Latin culture. We also offer celebrations of important Latin American Catholic feast days, such as for La Virgen de Guadalupe and Nuestra SeƱora de la Divina Providencia.
Servimos
Students can participate in service with local Hispanic communities as volunteers for ESoL tutoring, offered through Community Outreach of Villanova (COV). These various opportunities through COV primarily serve Hispanic and immigrant communities in South Philadelphia.
Participation in COV is a semester-long commitment to volunteer once a week with one of our partner organizations. For more information on serving through COV, please contact Marisol Lezcano in Campus Ministry.
