Dr. Douglas Munch
Engineers Week begins February 15 and culminates on February 21 with the College’s annual Patrick J. Cunningham, Jr. and Susan Ward '80 Endowed Lecture Series in Engineering. The 2020 Ward lecturer is Dr. Douglas Munch, whose resume includes the Apollo program, the Navy’s F-14 fighter aircraft and a PhD in Medicine and Biomedical Engineering. He will present “When I Grow Up: A Life’s Narrative.”
Recognizing that “navigating through life is a challenge and no decision is perfect,” Dr. Munch will speak to the nature of the choices we make and how they may lead us in countless directions, both personally and professionally. Sharing lessons learned from his own storied career, Dr. Munch will talk about the winding road that led him from graduation at Villanova to life-changing and blockbuster movie-captured experiences with NASA (Apollo 13) and the Navy (Top Gun), as well as medical school, biotech startups, photography and a children’s book. Read more about Dr. Munch in the fall 2019 issue of Villanova Engineer.
The Patrick J. Cunningham, Jr. and Susan Ward '80 Endowed Lecture Series in Engineering is open to the public and will be held on Friday, February 21, 2020 at 2:30 p.m. in the Villanova Room, Connelly Center, Villanova University.
