As one of 22 distinguished members of the ERC’s Scientific Council, Dr. Lorente will help set the scientific strategy for the organization, which provides funding for groundbreaking research conducted within the European Union.
Initiated in spring 2022, the award is intended to support tenure-track faculty members to facilitate relationships with mentor/collaborators at other institutions who can help to accelerate faculty research development.
Joseph Zinno ’22 ME and Alexa Dang ’22 were among the 19 Villanovans offered grants to conduct research, study and teach abroad. Two others from the College of Engineering were recognized as semi-finalists.
Villanova faculty, staff and students participated in the inaugural NovaCell Walk for Cancer Research Awareness, with a theme focused on promising new therapies in cancer research and being health conscious.
Working in partnership with Villanova’s Center for Humanitarian Engineering and International Development, staff members from Aqua have lent their expertise to Engineering students through projects aimed at increasing the availability of sustainable water supplies in developing communities.
