On February 18, 2022, Engineers’ Week will begin with the annual Patrick J. Cunningham, Jr. and Susan Ward '80 Endowed Lecture Series in Engineering. This year’s lecturer Dr. Ricaurte Vásquez Morales ’73 CLAS, Administrator of the Panama Canal Authority. Dr. Vásquez’s presentation to the Villanova community will be on the topic of “Global Change and The Panama Canal.”
The four-and-a-half-year award will allow the professor of Mechanical Engineering to develop and improve dynamic systems on Navy ships.
“I never grew up wanting to work on cars,” says McDermott, one of NovaRacing’s team captains, “but I came into Formula SAE because I saw it as an opportunity to do hands-on engineering as an undergraduate. There’s really no other club like it on campus.”
Villanova faculty, staff and students participated in the inaugural NovaCell Walk for Cancer Research Awareness, with a theme focused on promising new therapies in cancer research and being health conscious.
This fall and winter, students in the VESL program are working with international community partners to engage in ethical service and create sustainable engineering solutions.
