VSB Ranking from U.S. News & World Report’s Best Online Graduate Business Programs, and the Best Online MBA ranking

Villanova, Pa., January 15, 2019 – The Villanova School of Business (VSB) was recognized among the top schools in the nation on the U.S. News & World Report’s annual Best Online Graduate Business Programs, and the Best Online MBA ranking, earning the #2 and #13 ranks respectively.

VSB has consistently earned a top spot in the Best Graduate Online Business Programs since the ranking’s inception, for its Master of Science in Analytics (MSA) and Master of Science in Church Management (MSCM) programs. The MSCM is a one-of-a-kind two-year online business program designed to enable church leaders to apply sound business principles to church management-related issues and decision making. The MSA program exposes students to the entire analytics continuum to build a broad toolkit of analytics skills within the context of various business functions, enabling graduates to make informed and sustainable business decisions. Both programs were built from the ground up with input from industry experts, for a fully tailored and application-based experience.

The Villanova Online MBA program was also ranked highly, further validating the School’s ability to deliver a high-quality learning experience for students regardless of the mode of delivery. The Villanova Online MBA program provides students with real-world experience alongside traditional academics, preparing our graduates to tackle any business problem. The Online MBA offers the same curriculum, expert faculty, and NovaNation network as our top-ranked campus program in a flexible, convenient format.

Our online programs performed particularly well in the Student Engagement category, ranking #1 for our Masters in Business programs, and #19 for our Online MBA offering. This category measures the school’s ability to promote students participation and provide a rewarding learning experience in the online environment. Additionally, our Specialized Masters in Business programs earned the #9 spot for Student Excellence, which measures the academic aptitude of the incoming class. Our OMBA program performed particularly well on the Expert Opinion Score, in which schools are rated by high-ranking school officials, earning an average rating of 3.5.

Joyce E. A. Russell, PhD, The Helen and William O’Toole Dean of VSB, notes, “Success in the online environment underscores the strength of our faculty, curriculum, students and support services, which we are incredibly proud of.”

The methodology of U.S. News & World Report’s annual ranking of online graduate business programs emphasizes student engagement, admissions selectivity, faculty credentials and training, and student services and technology capabilities. It also takes into account the reputation of the program among high-ranking business academic officials through a peer survey.
