Bartley Hall

Villanova, Pa., August 31, 2018 – Beginning this fall semester, the Villanova School of Business (VSB) will be partnering with the Barron’s in Education Program to offer its students, faculty and staff digital subscriptions to Barron’s online content due to the generosity of Northern Trust. Barron's, one of America's premier financial magazines, provides in-depth analysis and commentary on the markets, updated every business day online.

“It is an honor to partner with Barron’s in Education to provide our students, faculty and staff additional real-world insight into investment topics and global market trends,” said Joyce E. A. Russell, PhD, the Helen and William O’Toole Dean of VSB. “We cannot thank Northern Trust enough for their financial support of the program; their mission aligns well with VSB’s mission to develop business leaders for a better world.”

“Engaging with and investing in the communities we serve has been a guiding principle at Northern Trust since our founding more than 125 years ago,” said Henry P. Johnson, President of Northern Trust Wealth Management - East Region. “We are thus pleased to underwrite the Barron’s in Education Program at Villanova School of Business, knowing the important value this resource will provide to business school students in their current coursework, their improved knowledge of the investment and finance landscape and, ultimately, their future success as business and community leaders.”

This program, supported by Barron’s and Northern Trust who wish to improve financial literacy and proficiency in universities across the nation, provides multiple benefits to students pursuing a career in business and faculty looking to make greater strides in their fields. Some of these benefits include:

  • Barron's digital online subscriptions for all business students, faculty and staff
  • Distribution of Barron's "Weekly Review” for business faculty
  • Guest Speakers/webinars made available from Dow Jones, Barron's and Northern Trust for student engagement
  • Opportunities to connect with Barron’s corporate recruitment teams for intern and job opportunities

"We are so pleased to bring the Barron's in Education Program to the Villanova School of Business with support from Northern Trust,” said Joe Lanza, Director of Financial Education at Dow Jones Media Group. “All VSB students, faculty and staff will have access to Barron's digital content along with experiential learning elements designed to help promote financial proficiency for the next generation of business leaders.”
