Villanova School of Business Maintains Prestigious Accreditation

Villanova, PA., April 20, 2017 – The Villanova School of Business has maintained its accreditation in its Business and Accounting programs by AACSB International-The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Founded in 1916, AACSB International is the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools that offer bachelors, masters, and doctorate degrees in business and accounting.  The Villanova School of Business is one of only 185 other business schools in the world to receive this specialized accreditation.

“This extension of accreditation is a true marker for the high-quality education VSB provides, and of the ongoing hard work of our entire community of faculty, staff and students” said Joyce E. A. Russell, PhD, The Helen and William O’Toole Dean of VSB.

In order to meet AACSB standards, collegiate business schools must demonstrate excellence in areas relating to strategic management and innovation, demonstrate student, faculty, and staff as active participants, emphasize learning, teaching, academic and professional engagement Since its founding in 1922, VSB has emphasized  creativity and innovation; hands-on and service learning opportunities; a firm grounding in ethics; and an applied education that prepares students to become outstanding leaders and global citizens. AACSB accreditation is a recognition of Villanova School of Business commitment to its fundamental values.

“AACSB commends Villanova for their exemplary work in holding the highest honor in business school accreditation,” said Robert D. Reid, executive vice president and chief accreditation officer of AACSB International. “During this peer-review process schools must demonstrate alignment with AACSB global accreditation standards, as well as how they encourage engagement, innovation, and impact across the communities they serve.”
