Scholarship and Grants

Student Walks By Grotto

In the spectrum of educational funding, scholarships and grants are the "free money" that is known as gift aid.  These funds do not need to be repaid. In general, scholarships are given based on merit, defined by the scholarship program, and grants are given based on demonstrated financial need. A student is considered for Federal, State and Villanova need-based grants simply by applying for financial assistance from Villanova University.

The Office of Financial Assistance administers the awarding of Federal, State and Institutional need-based funding, whereas the Office of Admission administers the awarding of merit-based scholarships.

As a mission driven institution, our foundational Augustinain values compel us to prioritize need-based aid with the hope of creating a more equitable enrollment process.   Please refer to the Merit-based scholarship information for details about the Merit-based Scholarships at Villanova.

Tuition Exchange (TE) is a reciprocal scholarship opportunity for the dependents of eligible faculty and staff at 645+ member schools. The Tuition Exchange scholarship is merit-based and requires an application to be submitted by your home school in order to be reviewed for eligibility.
