The Fuel to Reach His Goals
Mike Bambrick ’16 CPS appreciates a talented rival. Growing up in “Orange” country, the Syracuse, N.Y., native and basketball fan admired what the Wildcats stood for on and off the court. When the job of digital marketing manager at Gap International, a management consulting firm, brought him to suburban Philadelphia, Bambrick decided to complete his college degree—and he knew where to do it.
Three years in Villanova’s College of Professional Studies transformed his résumé. Working toward a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies, Bambrick created a marketing plan for his concept for a satellite internet hot spot. It earned him a Meyer Innovation and Creative Excellence Award from the University. He also shared his social media, technology and marketing expertise to help CPS advertise and host the Disney Institute in June.
Committed faculty and staff guided Bambrick in honing skills he will need to realize his dream of being a chief digital officer. “Mike is intelligent, innovative and artistic,” says Sandra Kearney, ’00 MS, assistant dean of CPS and Bambrick’s adviser. “Villanova gave him the time and space to speak up, develop confidence and be more extroverted.”
This new alumnus has great credentials and access to a powerful network. Also, he says, he is a better person and a stronger leader. “Villanova lit my heart on fire and gave me the fuel to reach my goals.”
