Career Opportunities

Students and alumni of the M. Louise Fitzpatrick College of Nursing benefit from the numerous job opportunities and internship and externship programs that our clinical partners make available. Clinical agencies around the country want to hire Villanova Nurses and may notify us of open positions they have. These positions are entered into the Villanova University Career Services e-recruiting Experience database and are accessible by students and alumni. Students and alumni can also create profiles, post resumes and send resumes online. Placement statistics are also available on career services web pages. There is a host of other information that students and alumni can access about the services offered in this area.

If you are a student, you can make contact with nurse recruiters from around the country at the College’s Annual Career Fair co-sponsored by Villanova University Career Services. Additionally, you can hear from well-respected nurses from various specialties and agencies who give presentations at the career fair.

Career opportunities are sent to students via an e-newsletter informing them of potential employment possibilities. This is done every two weeks during the academic fall and spring semesters and less frequently in the summer.

Interested in a nurse externship? Students have access to view available opportunities across the nation using the “Handshake” application available through the University.  Students also have the opportunity to learn about different types of externship programs and receive advice from senior students who have experienced one via the annual Nursing Externship Panel.

Looking for help or advice online? Choose a fellow Villanova Nurse mentor of your liking through Career Services’ alumni e-mentor program.
