Graduate Student Spring Poster Competition

On Friday, March 23, eight Villanova College of Engineering graduate student projects were presented as part of this semester’s Graduate Student Poster Competition. Research came from all different disciplines of engineering and covered a wide array of topics. Each project was based on research done over the past year, and was judged by faculty. Awards were presented as follows:
First Place: | “Proton exchange membrane (PEM) fuel cell modeling” by PhD student Miloš Milanović, advised by Dr. Verica Gajic, Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering |
Second Place: |
“Hydrologic modeling in and around green infrastructure using GIS” by master’s student Humaira Jahangiri, Water Resources and Environmental Engineering, advised by Dr. Virginia Smith, Assistant Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering |
Third Place (tie): | “On the examinations of Darcy permeability of fibrous porous material; New correlations” by PhD student Zenghao Zhu, advised by Dr. Qianhong Wu, Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Director of Graduate Studies “Monitoring and performance of rain gardens at the headwaters for the Jenkintown Creek” by master’s student Sergio Carvajal, Civil Engineering, advised by Dr. Andrea L. Welker, PE, Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs |
“Each project was very well done and a strong indication of the diversity of research options available for graduate students in the College of Engineering,” says Senior Associate Dean of Graduate Studies and Research Dr. Jerry Jones.
