Goal:  ACADEMICS AND GAINING SOCIAL SKILLS

Despite the advantage of a highly successful and well-funded school district, there are students who fall behind.  Most recent district-level data show a 27 point achievement gap between economically disadvantaged students and their more affluent peers in reading and math; whereas proficiency rates for all students hover in the low 90%, for economically disadvantaged students the rates of proficiency are closer to 63%.  This after school program was designed for all students who are falling behind or not achieving their academic potential.  The goal is to give all students the opportunity to maximize their potential with one-on-one attention and support, so they can succeed in their classwork while developing the skills they need to prepare for college preparatory high school courses and college.
