We can't wait to welcome you to Villanova!

Students in a group at New Student Orientation

New Student Orientation begins with Move-In Day on Friday, Aug. 18. On Saturday, Aug. 19, students, parents and families participate in activities designed to acclimate them to Villanova's campus and forge relationships with peers. After the Family Picnic on Saturday evening, parents and families will depart campus. New Student-only programming will continue from 6:30 p.m. on Saturday through the start of classes on Wednesday, Aug. 23.

We're thrilled you've chosen to spend the next four years at Villanova. New Student Orientation is required for all incoming new students and will run August 19-22, 2023, with move-in scheduled for August 18, 2023. New Student Orientation provides programming and activities designed to help you thrive both inside and outside the classroom.

You'll be challenged academically, socially and spiritually during your time at Villanova. It will be up to you to rise to meet the challenges and make the most of your time with us!

About Us

New Student Orientation is designed to introduce students to what it means to be a Villanovan. During Orientation, first-year and transfer students participate in programs, presentations and activities designed to familiarize themselves with academic and cultural life at Villanova. Students have the opportunity to meet with deans, faculty and staff who will answer questions, address concerns and highlight the wide variety of services and activities available at Villanova.

Our Goals

New Student Orientation welcomes students to all aspects of Villanova life including academic, communal, spiritual and social elements of what makes our campus and community unique.

We accomplish this by:

  • developing programs where new students learn about educational opportunities inside and outside the classroom;
  • informing students of resources on campus;
  • encouraging interaction and friendship among new and seasoned students to become an integral part of Villanova's community and tradition;
  • training a diverse staff of current students who facilitate the transition to all aspects of Villanova life.

OUR 2023 THEME:

What does this year's theme mean to you?

“This year's theme captures our hope for new students, that they dive into our community with everything that they are and find joy in the experience of making Villanova their home.”

“This theme means actively taking charge in this new environment that is college, and exploring what possibilities there are. There are a ton of new things to try at Nova. This is the start of your college journey, and I hope you seize the opportunity for a great four years here.”

"This theme encapsulates Villanova as a blank slate that is brimming with promise. there’s so much to gain if you embrace these changes and opportunities wholeheartedly."

“As a transfer student, Villanova allowed me to start a new page and explore everything that this place has to offer, making it extremely different from my previous institution.”

“It’s an encouragement to write your Villanova story the way you want it to be written, and just remember you have control now, so really get out there and make the most out of everything that you can.”

“At Villanova, whether you're a new student or a member of this next year's Orientation staff, we all can embrace our new beginnings at Villanova and find new passions, impact others, and grow into new versions of ourselves.”
