ASSOCIATE OF SCIENCE

Available On Campus & Hybrid.

The Associate of Science (AS) is an undergraduate degree program designed for students who want a rigorous and diverse general curriculum. In addition to your focused coursework in Science and Math, you will take courses in the Humanities and Social Sciences and can customize your academic plan with electives catered to your professional and personal interests.

This post-secondary academic credential positions you for career advancement, and may be a first step towards earning your Bachelor's degree. In addition, earning this credential can set you apart from others in roles such as health care assistants, medical assistants, nurse assistants, dental assistants, etc. All of these positions have specific training for their fields, but an Associate of Science degree can differentiate you from other applicants and potentially warrant a higher salary. An Associate's degree is also an appropriate pursuit for students who may be undecided on a major and still exploring their interests and career options.

The AS degree requires students to complete 20 courses and a minimum of 60 credits, 30 of which must be taken at Villanova University. Up to 30 credits can be transferred from an accredited institution.

Most courses within the degree are also offered as accelerated FastForward courses, which run for seven weeks and enable students to finish at a faster pace.
