HOLY WEEK at VILLANOVA
March 28 – April 4

Dear Members of the Villanova Community,

For what may be the first time in Villanova’s history, liturgies from Palm Sunday through Easter Sunday will be offered on campus for students. This summit of the Church Year commemorates Jesus’ suffering, death and resurrection. It reaffirms virtues—service, compassion, hope, joy—that are at the heart of our Augustinian Catholic tradition. I invite you to learn more about these liturgies by visiting the Holy Week 101 section on the Campus Ministry website.

Students are invited to join me in person or virtually for these holiest of days and greatest of liturgies–and an after-Vigil reception with food, drinks and musical entertainment. There will also be a light breakfast served after the Easter Sunday Ecumenical Service, and Easter Brunch available in Donahue, Dougherty and St. Mary’s.

Faculty, staff, alumni, parents and friends are invited to celebrate via livestream.

While all of these liturgies are from the Christian tradition, students from any faith background are welcome and encouraged to attend any or all of these celebrations. In this year that has isolated and challenged us at times, let us take this opportunity to come together as Villanovans in prayer and hope for new life and beginnings.
