Clinical Instructor/Preceptor Certificate Program

Would you like to expand your abilities as a clinical instructor or preceptor? This asynchronous, online program is designed to help both clinical instructors and preceptors understand the full scope of their role.

With the extraordinary effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on the higher education learning environment and health care employers, many participants may have concerns about the changes that occurred and their potential effects. Participants will discuss how to address many students’ concerns for learning in a virtual environment and help new-to-practice nurses gain confidence even if direct patient care interactions were experienced through innovative simulated activities.

This program will also emphasize the importance of how a variety of patient and community experiences are integral to learning. Together participants explore how to manage the challenges that arise with student/new employee clinical performance, changes in patient status, and the value of teaching interprofessional collaboration.

The 2023 session is full.

Registration for 2024 will be available soon!

Participants are provided with information and resources to enhance their effectiveness in the role, and they are expected to engage in online discussions about the topics at hand by raising questions, sharing experiences, voicing concerns and challenges. Through this format, participants learn from one another, as well as from program faculty.
