Dr. Moeness Amin Recognized by Australian University for Collaborative Efforts

Dr. Moeness Amin, Director of the College of Engineering’s Center for Advanced Communications (CAC), received a Certificate of Appreciation from the University of Wollongong (UOW), New South Wales, Australia, for "his generous and invaluable contribution and sustained collaboration with the ICT Institute and the Faculty of Informatics." The ICT Institute is one of the longest running and largest university-based research institutes in the field of information and communication technology in Australia.

The certificate was presented to Dr. Amin by Dr. Salim Bouzerdoum, Associate Dean for Research; Dr. Philip Ogunbona, Dean of Informatics; and Dr. Farzad Safaei, Director of the ICT Institute. Dr. Amin traveled to Australia in December and spent several weeks at the University of Wollongong as part of the Australian Research Council Fellowship that was awarded to him last year.

While there, Dr. Amin also met with Ashley Tanks, Manager, Study Abroad & Exchange, and Trish Tindall, Manager, International Relations at UOW, to discuss opportunities for establishing and strengthening the international undergraduate student program between Villanova and UOW, specifically in the College of Engineering.
