CAC Director Travels to European Universities for Invited Talks
Moeness Amin, PhD
Moeness Amin, PhD, director of the Center for Advanced Communications (CAC), traveled to Spain and Germany in June to give three invited talks on the topics of radar imaging and sparse signal and array processing. His talk in Germany was held at the University Polytechnic of Darmstadt; and in Spain, he presented at the University of Polytechnic of Madrid, and the Telecommunications Technology Center of Catalunya. While in Spain, Dr. Amin also attended the IEEE Workshop on Sensor Array and Multidimensional Signal Processing, during which he chaired two technical sessions and presented two papers coauthored by graduate students and CAC research professors.
Dr. Amin is an internationally recognized expert in the area of signal analysis and processing. In 2012, a report prepared for the Industry-University Cooperative Research Center Program (I/UCRC) of the National Science Foundation (NSF), named Villanova University’s Center for Advanced Communications “an excellent and rare example of how to sustain and grow a research operation in a smaller university.” The report credits much of the Center’s success on Dr. Amin’s leadership, which began in 2002.
