Dr. Fauzia Ahmad Elected Senior Member of the SPIE

Dr. Fauzia Ahmad, Research Associate Professor and Director of the Radar Imaging Lab, Center for Advanced Communications, has been elected to the grade of Senior Member of the International Society of Optics and Photonics (SPIE), one of the world’s leading professional societies for Optics, Photonics, Optoelectronics, and Imaging, with more than 225,600 members in 150 countries. SPIE Senior Members are members of distinction who are honored for their professional experience, their active involvement with the optics community and SPIE, and significant performance that sets them apart from their peers. Dr. Ahmad was recognized for her distinguished achievements in radar and microwave imaging. Since 2005, she has been actively involved in the SPIE as an author, session chair, Radar Sensor Technology conference committee member, and chair of the Compressive Sensing Conference, which were key factors in her being promoted to SPIE Senior member this year.
