Dr. Stephen Jones "Knighted" by Ivy Legacy Foundation
In recognition of the positive influence he has had on the educational landscape in the greater Philadelphia area, Dr. Stephen Jones, Associate Dean for Student and Strategic Programs, will be honored by The Ivy Legacy Foundation at its “A Knight to Remember” celebration on Nov. 19.
To mark the organization’s twentieth anniversary, the foundation has selected 20 local “knights in shining armor” who exemplify the organization’s mission to make an educational, cultural, and societal difference in the community. “It is an honor to be recognized for a focus that has driven my career – to diminish the academic gap that prevents students from achieving their dreams,” says Dr. Jones.
In his role as Associate Dean for the College of Engineering, Dr. Jones oversees a number of strategic STEM outreach programs designed to improve local middle- and high-school students’ interests and abilities in science, technology, engineering, and math subjects. He is also an advocate for study skills, leadership, communication, and management development for students. He is the author of Seven Secrets of How to Study, the Parent’s Ultimate Education Guide, and the Ultimate Scholarship Guide.
The recognition ceremony will take place during the organization’s marquee annual event, “Philly’s Men are Cookin’,” which draws more than 100 amateur and professional chefs and more than 1,000 attendees annually to raise funds for the foundation. This year’s event will take place at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. For more information about The Ivy Legacy Foundation or the event, please visit www.ivylegacy.org.
