Civil Engineering Student Receives Research Award
Cem Unlu, a graduate student in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, is the recipient of the 2009 Student Research Award from the Pennsylvania Water Environment Association (PWEA). “I am honored to receive this nationally recognized and prestigious award,” Cem said.
PWEA recognized Cem’s work on microbial water and quality sources of indicator microorganisms in Goose Creek, a major tributary in the Chester Creek Watershed. Cem will receive the award and present a paper on his research at the PennTech 2009 Conference in June.
