The Annual Dean's Awards Dinner was initiated in 1976 in order to recognize students graduating within the current academic year for academic achievement and/or the meaningful contributions and service provided to the College of Engineering during their time at Villanova. Students who will receive an invitation are:

  • Award Recipients - Academic Excellence and Meritorious Service
  • Dean's Recognition Invitees, graduating seniors who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.75 as of the previous fall term.

Award Recipient Criteria

Academic Excellence
The Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence was established in order to recognize outstanding academic performance. To be a recipient of this award, students must have a cumulative grade point average at the top ten percent of their major at the end of the fall term. The awards are presented by the Dean of the College of Engineering.

Meritorious Service
The Dean’s Award for Meritorious Service was established to recognize exceptional contributions to the College of Engineering. To be eligible for this award, nominees must be a graduating senior engineering major who has been involved in extra-curricular and/or service activities within the College for a sustained period.  Preference is given to students who demonstrate noteworthy leadership in one or more activities. Recipients may be self-nominated or nominated by fellow students, faculty, staff or administrators, and are selected by the Dean of the College of Engineering.

The Dean's Awards Dinner is held in April.

Academic Excellence, Meritorious Service Recipients and students with Dean's Recognition status will receive email invitations to this event.
