Foundation Courses Assessment

The College of Liberal Arts & Sciences has created an assessment protocol for the five courses that constitute the College’s Foundation Core Curriculum (ACS 1000, ACS 1001, THL 1000, PHL 1000 and ETH 2050).  In your first year at Villanova (in one of your ACS classes), you created an E-Portfolio that serves as a depository for work completed in these five courses.

One reason for creating the E-Portfolio is that you have a record of your development as a thinker in these signature Villanova courses (the E-Portfolio will stay with you for all four years here at Villanova). Another reason is to provide the University with artifacts from your foundation courses work that we can use to assess the degree to which we are meeting the learning goals common to all five courses.
