Villanova Ignite Change Case Competition
Friday, February 4 - Saturday February 6
The inaugural Villanova Ignite Change Case Competition focuses on a specific social or environmental issue within the built environment and gives Villanova students of all backgrounds and majors an opportunity to connect with each other and community members, think creatively, and initiate thought-provoking conversations about real-world problems.
Students this year will be given a case on the topic of gentrification, a process that changes the affordability and character of an urban neighborhood through the influx of more affluent groups, which ultimately impacts lower-income communities currently residing there. Gentrification is often closely tied to issues of race and racism. Teams of four will have less than 48-hours to review the given case, brainstorm to come up with a solution, and present their findings to a panel of judges.
Register on Handshake by the deadline, Friday, January 21.

Villanova Real Estate Field Experiences
The Villanova Real Estate Field Experience will connect students with Villanova alumni working in real estate. The professionals will provide the opportunity and framework required to teach the student about his/her corner of the industry. Each student will be expected to produce a deliverable appropriate to their respective real estate knowledge levels – ex, an OM, proforma, market analysis, etc. The final project should be something that could be shared with potential employers as a “portfolio” project. Students will also gain exposure to a day in the life of a real estate professional, providing insight into this industry. Students will be expected to spend 5-10 hours per week applying new skills as they are learned
