Rebecca Shenkman, Director, COPE

Rebecca Shenkman

Rebecca Shenkman, MPH, RDN, LDN serves as Interim Director for the MacDonald Center for Obesity Prevention and Education. Rebecca has clinical, community and research experience in the field of nutrition providing the Center with a broad perspective on obesity management and research.  She is a published author on behavioral treatments of obesity which guided her career focus of translating nutritional science into practical advice for patients and clients to improve their quality of life. 

Rebecca earned her BA in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania  and her Master of Public Health degree from New York University.

Lisa K. Diewald, Program Manager, COPE

Lisa K. Diewald, MS, RC, RD, LDN comes to us with experience at the University of Pennsylvania’s Center for Weight and Eating Disorders and has provided patient counseling, been involved in curriculum development and has been a research dietitian engaged in numerous studies. She has also developed, conducted, and evaluated after school education programs for the School District of Philadelphia and launched pilot programs for at-risk middle school girls in association with Drexel University. Lisa earned her BS in Nutrition Science from Drexel and an MS in Health Education from St. Joseph’s University. She holds a Certificate in Clinical Research at Penn’s Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Bio Statistics.

Libby Mills, Registered Dietitian

Libby Mills, MS,RDN, LDN, Received her undergraduate education in Human Nutrition at the University of Missouri and she received her MS in Nutrition and Dietetics from St. Louis University. Libby will provide nutrition counseling to Villanova employees who receive 6 hours of consultation as part of their health insurance plans. She has vast experience in nutrition and life style changes. She will be available by appointment. Libby has also taught nutrition in nursing programs.

Lynore DeSilets, Assistant Dean and Director, Continuing Education

Lyn DeSilets

Lyn DeSilets, EdD, RN-BC leads the Continuing Nursing Education (CNE) program in the College of Nursing. Dr. DeSilets also oversees the educational activities of COPE and enhances the programs provided for healthcare professionals with her knowledge and expertise.  Dr. DeSilets is a member of the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation (ANCC-COA).  Prior to this appointment she had served as an appraiser for ANCC's Commission on Accreditation for 20 years. She is an associate editor for the Journal of Continuing Education in Nursing.  Dr. DeSilets previously chaired the Content Expert Panel for the ANCC certification exam in Nursing Professional Development and has served on the Board for Certification for ANCC.
