Deborah King Brings Simulation and Pediatric Expertise to Faculty

New faculty member Deborah King, MSN-Ed, RN, joined the Fitzpatrick College of Nursing in October. A clinical assistant instructor in the second degree accelerated BSN track, her research focuses on the relationship of social isolation and depressive symptoms to self-harm in adolescents during the COVID-19 pandemic.

King brings to her new role expertise in both pediatrics and simulation in nursing and is supporting faculty and staff as a simulation educator. She will be teaching pediatrics and Introduction to Professional Nursing for traditional students this fall semester as well as serving as course leader for the second-degree program for the introductory courses and Essentials of Nursing Practice and its practicum. Additionally, she will assist with mentoring and tutoring students.

Previously, King was adjunct faculty and clinical site coordinator at the College of New Jersey, where she earned her BSN.  She earned her master’s degree in nursing education from Drexel University.
