Along with alumni who were honored for their achievements at the College of Nursing's 28th Annual Mass and Alumni Awards Ceremony on April 29, 2017, the College made a special presentation to Marianne and Richard '83 VSB Kreider acknowledging all they do for the College. Along with a gift, a paver recognizing them was installed on the front patio of Driscoll Hall.
A citation was read by retired Assistant Dean Rose O'Driscoll during the ceremony as directed by Dr. M. Louise Fitzpatrick, Connelly Endowed Dean, who could not attend.
"They and many other members of our Board of Consultors have been so supportive of the College of Nursing, not only in sharing of their resources but investing their time and interest," noted the Dean who wanted to publicly thank the couple and everyone else who has been so helpful to the College.
The Kreiders have five children, three of whom are Villanovans (Kristen '05 BSN, Kelly '09 CLAS and Brian '18 VSB). They have established an endowed scholarship, as well as the College's first endowed professorship in the Nursing of Vulnerable Populations. Rich was the inaugural chair of the College of Nursing Board of Consultors and the College's representative to the current Capital Campaign Committee. He is now a member of the University Board of Trustees.
