On the occasion of its 25th Annual Scientific Sessions held in Boston, the Eastern Nursing Research Society (ENRS) will honor a distinguished group of 20 nurse researchers, including Suzanne Smeltzer, EdD, RN, FAAN, professor and director of the College of Nursing’s Center for Nursing Research.  She and her fellow nurse researchers will be recognized at ENRS’ 25th Anniversary Gala celebration on April 17.

ENRS, a community of nurses interested in promoting research in the Eastern Region of the United States, notes that “...recognition will be bestowed upon a group of influential members that have shown sustained leadership in promoting health through nursing science.” Dr. Smeltzer, a past president of ENRS, is an internationally renowned scholar, researcher, and educator. She has conducted extensive research on individuals with multiple sclerosis and other disabilities, as well as how to improve the health of those who have a disability and how to integrate information about people with disabilities into health care professionals’ education and training.
