Commercial Contract Management

Effective contract management is critical to the success of any business. This course provides a comprehensive overview of commercial contract management, covering the legal framework, risk assessment and best practices for managing contracts in a business enterprise.

Participants will gain a strong foundation in the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), exploring its role in standardizing business transactions and ensuring legal compliance. The course delves into contract formation, negotiation strategies and dispute resolution, equipping students with practical skills for drafting, analyzing and managing commercial contracts. Key topics include non-disclosure and non-compete agreements, contract risk identification, redlining techniques and supply chain transactions.

By the end of the course, students will be able to:

  • Describe the articles of the UCC and their application in commercial contracts.
  • Manage all facets of commercial contracts, from formation to execution.
  • Identify contract risks and effectively redline disputed terms.
  • Evaluate contract performance, including conditions for rejection or excused performance.
