The Class of 2027, hailing from 29 states, the District of Columbia and four international countries, began their law school journey last week. With impressive academic credentials and diverse backgrounds, this year’s entering class prepares to become principled leaders in the law profession.

The 212 incoming students began their Villanova experience on August 20, arriving at Scarpa Hall for three days of orientation activities. On the first day, students were welcomed by The Rev. Peter M. Donohue, OSA, PhD, ’75 CLAS, University President and Mark C. Alexander, the Arthur J. Kania Dean.

“You are here because you are optimistic about the future and what you might achieve as one who is not only committed to the rule of law but understands it and knows how to apply it,” said Dean Alexander during his remarks. “At Villanova Law, we share that commitment and the desire to create positive change.”

During the rest of orientation, students also took the professional oath, administered by Villanova Law alumnus Hon. Collins Seitz, Jr. ’83, marking their official entry into the legal profession. On days two and three, students engaged in mock classes, participated in health and wellbeing seminars and became acquainted with classmates. Their introduction to Villanova Law culminated in a community picnic sponsored by the Alumni Association with faculty, staff, alumni and current students.

Villanova Law enthusiastically welcomes these new students and looks forward to their contributions to our community over the next three years and beyond.
