MINORITY ALUMNI SOCIETY
Villanova Law's Minority Alumni Society was established in 1999 and is dedicated to supporting and promoting diversity at the Law School and within the legal profession.
The goals of the Society are:
- To assist the Law School in recruitment of minority and underrepresented students;
- To provide mentoring opportunities for minority and underrepresented students and alumni;
- To foster personal and professional relationships with and among minority and underrepresented alumni and the Law School; and
- To facilitate the exchange of information and ideas relative to the interest of minority and underrepresented law students and lawyers.
MENTORING
As one of the primary goals of the Minority Alumni Society, mentoring provides students with a way to connect with alumni and for alumni to connect with and help the next generation of Villanova lawyers.
BOOK SCHOLARSHIP FUND
Established in 2003 to help defray the cost of law books and other educational expenses, the Minority Alumni Society Book Scholarship Fund is awarded annually to Villanova Law students on the basis of academic achievement and financial need. The scholarship was established especially to assist minority students who have achieved academically in the face of significant cultural, social or economic obstacles.
Current students should contact the Office of Financial Aid for more information.
Leadership Board
The Minority Alumni Society is led by a leadership board and a group of advisers who are leaders in the legal industry and are committed to supporting diversity in the legal profession.
