Practice is designed to build upon Principles to enhance student learning through collaboration and practical application. FACULTY
Christie Harris, MA
is a Senior Contract Specialist with the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency. She brings over fifteen years of experience as a contracting officer for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and previous career experience working for companies vying for government contracts. She is a member of the Washington, D.C., chapter of the NCMA (National Contract Management Association) and holds several contracting certifications. Christie received a bachelor’s degree in international relations from Principia College and her master’s degree in international commerce and policy from George Mason University.
Ronald Bean, MBA
has over twenty-five years of career experience that includes healthcare management, sales and sales management, and real estate. He specializes in developing compensation plans and promoting career development for associates through didactic and experiential learning plans with a strong focus on developing sales strategies, segmenting markets and customer types, and application of business analytics to achieve business objectives.
Kimberly Strong Flint, MPA
has had a diverse career spanning over thirty-five (35) years in public service at the federal, state and local government levels. Beginning in 2023, she accepted a position with the New York State Division of Homeland Security, where she works to support communities and organizations seeking public assistance after disasters such as floods, hurricanes, tornadoes and more. Before that, she spent twenty (20) years as the contract administrator for Oneida County, New York, overseeing contracts for all county departments and incorporating federal, state and local funding sources. With a background in program management, she acquired a broad knowledge of contract procedures, government operations, public service and administrative law.
Kimberly has a bachelor’s degree in education from Keuka College and a master’s in public administration from Marist College. She began teaching for Villanova in 2017, and prior to that, she spent ten years as an Adjunct Instructor for Mohawk Valley Community College in Upstate New York, teaching courses on American National Government, State and Local Government, Macroeconomics and Organizational Behavior.
Michael Baumann, MS
Michael Baumann is a Division Director for GSA FAS, Assisted Acquisition Services Army, overseeing the technical solutions and project delivery of an $8B portfolio of complex acquisitions across the Mid-Atlantic and EMEA regions. With over 15 years of federal service, he has led large-scale IT and ISR acquisitions for the DoD, Intelligence Community, and NATO. His previous roles include Operations Manager for GSA Region 3, EMEA Branch Chief embedded with USAREUR-AF, and Senior Project Manager in both Philadelphia and Germany. As a faculty member for Villanova’s Contract Management Certificate program, he brings firsthand expertise in federal acquisition strategy, procurement, and project execution, equipping students with real-world insights into government contracting and acquisition management.
Megan Gerety, MS, MBA, Ph.D.
is a Contract Specialist with the United States Department of Defense. She strives to minimize supply chain risk and overspending by focusing on small business opportunities, strategic contracting and effective negotiation. Megan received her bachelor’s degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University, a master’s in communication and public relations from Lasell College, an MBA with a concentration in supply chain management from the University of Scranton and a Ph.D. in leadership and business through the University of the Cumberlands.
