GRADUATE TAX PROGRAM

Designed for legal, accounting and business professionals, Villanova’s Graduate Tax Program prepares you to advance your tax career, as well as successfully meet today’s challenges of the complex and ever-changing tax environment.

Rooted in a doctrinal foundation with a focus on practical tax skills, the Villanova Graduate Tax Program features an LLM in Taxation for lawyers and a Master of Taxation for accounting and business professionals, as well as Certificate Programs in specialized areas of taxation, all offered both online, in-person or a hybrid of both. The Graduate Tax Program melds real-world education with professional responsibility in tax practice, giving our graduates the expertise to do and be more.

FLEXIBLE FORMAT

Our Graduate Tax Program is tailored to the working professional. Whether you choose to pursue your degree online, on campus, or a combination of both, classes are held in the evenings and follow an eight-week schedule rather than a traditional semester-long format. This unique and flexible format allows you to focus on one course at a time, and if needed, pause during the busy tax season or for other life commitments. You set the path for your studies and take courses at your own pace. While most Graduate Tax students typically complete their degree within just two years, if needed, you have up to five years to finish your degree. As a Villanova Graduate Tax student, you pave the way to your degree on your schedule and at your convenience.

IMMERSIVE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

At Villanova, exceptional interdisciplinary faculty who are tax scholars and expert tax practitioners with decades of experience in their varied fields, lead engaging, in-depth and comprehensive examinations of tax principles and policies, creating a learning experience few schools can match. Here, lawyers, accountants and business professionals come together to learn side-by-side with and from each other. In-person, as well as online classes, feature live instruction each week, encouraging real-time discussions and feedback from faculty and peers.

RIGOROUS CURRICULUM

The Graduate Tax Program curriculum examines taxation from multiple perspectives, allowing students to explore how legal regulations and accounting principles affect the field’s ever-changing landscape. Courses examine the full spectrum of taxation practice, including federal, state and international taxation; individual and corporate income tax; taxation of trusts and estates; executive compensation and federal transfer taxes and tax procedure.
