Biography

Kate Vengraitis joins us from Community Legal Services, where she was a supervising attorney. At CLS, her practice focused on representing adults and children facing issues attaining and maintaining Social Security benefits. She also assisted older adults and individuals with disabilities in matters involving access to home and community-based services, as well as administrative and legislative advocacy, community education and outreach.

Prior to that, she was with the Defender Association of Philadelphia, where she was a Stoneleigh Emerging Leader Fellow in the Children and Youth Justice Unit. She also clerked on the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit for the Honorable Franklin S. Van Antwerpen.

Vengraitis graduated magna cum laude and Order of the Coif from Temple University Beasley School of Law, where she was the executive editor of the Temple Law Review. She has a master’s in public health from Drexel University and a BA from Cornell University.
