The Scarpa Center welcomes Andreas Widmer, founder and director of the Arthur & Carlyse Ciocca Center for Principled Entrepreneurship and associate professor of practice at The Catholic University of America. In an hour-long conversation with MarySheila McDonald, John F. Scarpa Professor of Entrepreneurship and director of the Scarpa Center, Widmer will address why capitalism has been under attack while providing case studies of thriving businesses that are ethical and rooted in a purpose higher than pure profit maximization.
Through his work, Widmer calls for a new kind of entrepreneur: a person capable of integrating personal virtue, cutting-edge entrepreneurial tools and a long-term perspective to launch and grow enterprises that can harness the power of human creativity. He is the author of The Pope & The CEO: John Paul II’s Leadership Lessons to a Young Swiss Guard and The Art of Principled Entrepreneurship: Creating Enduring Value.
The Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Board has approved this symposium for 1 Ethics CLE credit. Please note registration for this event is required. A reception and book signing will follow the presentation.
