INDIVIDUAL COURSE STUDENTS

  • Students interested in taking undergraduate courses as non-matriculated students, or
  • Students interested in taking prerequisites for a graduate program, or
  • Students interested in taking credit courses for personal development. 

Villanova's College of Professional Studies welcomes learners of all ages who want to continue learning, even if it's not as part of a degree or certificate program. Students can apply to enroll in individual courses at Villanova if they have completed at least 15 college credits and demonstrated strong academic performance. Individual course students are limited to 9 credits.

HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS

Academically accomplished current high school students may apply to take courses in the Fall, Spring, or Summer Session.
 

Current high school students are eligible to take one 3-credit course per semester. Students under the age of 18 are provided an approved course list from the Office of the Registrar for each semester. A CPS Enrollment Coach can provide the approved list when it becomes available.
 
Application Requirements:
  • High School Application (Post-secondary education section - write High School name)
  • Parent Permission Letter stating permission to take classes at Villanova
  • High School Permission Letter stating permission to take classes at Villanova, from Guidance Counselor or Principal

Academic Calendar

Villanova University is offering the Pre-College Summer Academy, an innovative pre-college academic experience. The courses offered in the program are specifically relevant to rising 11th and 12th-grade high school students and incoming college freshmen who will be experiencing college in the next couple of years. 

Students take a one (1) credit workshop to learn about college life and academics, as well as a three (3) credit course chosen from options selected to best prepare young students for higher education.

VISITING STUDENTS

Students currently seeking a degree at another college or university who wish to take undergraduate courses at Villanova during fall or spring semesters and transfer them back to their home college.

Visiting students can apply to enroll in courses at Villanova if they have completed at least 15 college credits*** and demonstrated strong academic performance. Visiting students are limited to 9 credits.

  • Home University Permission Letter stating that the applicant is approved to take undergraduate classes in the intended semester and is in good academic and disciplinary standing.*, **

*We recommend that applicants get course approval from their home institution for transfer

**If student is on medical leave, we require a letter from a physician stating they are in good health to take undergraduate courses at Villanova.

***If a student has NOT completed 15 college credits, we require a High School transcript as well.
