Description
Mediasite is a lecture capture tool available to all Villanova faculty, staff, and students. Mediasite recordings can be posted on your LMS course page, embedded on a web page, or shared with your audience via a direct link. Recordings can be created with Hardware Recorders in select on-campus locations, the Mediasite Mosaic screen recording application, or an external media upload through your MyMediasite account.
Mediasite serves three critical functions here at Villanova:
Classroom Lecture Capture (CLC)
Classroom Lecture Capture (CLC) is optional and only available at the instructor's request. The Hardware Recorder in the classroom will start and stop automatically based on the course schedule in Banner. Lecture recordings consist of the classroom’s video feed, microphone audio, and computer output displayed on the projector. After lecture recordings stop, they automatically upload to the instructor's MyMediasite account and remain private unless they are unlocked and shared with students.
Mediasite Mosaic
Mediasite Mosaic is a free desktop application that allows users to record their presentations on a personal or University-issued device and upload them directly into their MyMediasite account. Mediasite Mosaic is compatible with Windows and macOS devices.
MyMediasite
MyMediasite is a simple interface for creating, recording, editing, sharing, and publishing presentations. It also allows users to view presentation analytics and interact with their audience via polls, Q&A forums, and basic quizzing.
Audience

Requesting Recordings
Mediasite recording is only available by request.
- To record an entire semester of on-ground lectures using Mediasite, the instructor designated as the "Primary" must submit a request at https://villanova.edu/recordmyclass
- To record a one-off classroom lecture or event, please submit the appropriate request form at support.villanova.edu
