Habitat for Humanity has a mission of ensuring that housing is attainable to all people who seek it. We, as the Villanova University Habitat for Humanity Campus Chapter, join with Habitat for Humanity in advocating for more equitable housing policies..

Advocate for Fair Housing

This year, Habitat for Humanity has a particular focus on Building the Beloved Community. They state, "Historic discrimination in U.S. housing policy — particularly discrimination against Black Americans — is one of the chief drivers of racial inequities that persist today. Organizations like ours that work on housing must understand that history and have it inform our work."

Villanova's Campus Chapter of Habitat for Humanity:

  1. Educates Villanovans about the need for affordable housing locally and globally.
  2. Advocates for affordable housing through letter-writing campaigns, legislative visits and other events.
  3. Builds simple, decent, affordable housing with our partner affiliate Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County.
  4. Raises funds to support the mission of Habitat for Humanity.
  5. Serves the local community through builds and working in the ReStore.
