PAYING IT FORWARD

When asked to describe VSB in three words, Vidhi Shah ’15 VSB chose enriching, challenging, and quick. It was enriching because she was able to supplement her business education with outside activities such as Business without Borders, a club that explores ways that business skills can serve the community. It was challenging in that it forced her to step outside her comfort zone, particularly in the area of public speaking. Finally, Shah, like many alumni, believes the 4 years at Villanova go by too quickly.

Since her graduation in 2015 Shah has been paying it forward, helping the next class of students make the most of their time on campus.

During her time at Villanova, she served as a founding member of the Advisory Board for VSB’s Mentor Program. The program has become a success, matching students with alumni mentors. Shah continues to serve on the board, and she hopes to become a mentor herself as her career further develops.

Shah has also used her role as a credit associate at TD Bank’s Corporate and Specialty Banking group to pay it forward for other Villanova students. When a current VSB student came to intern in her department, Shah was tasked with introducing him to the company and assisting him with his work. When he filled out an evaluation form, he credited Shah with making him feel welcome.

The Villanova network follows her at her current job where over half of the employees in her group have a connection to Villanova. While they might not have shared a graduating class, they share a love of Villanova Basketball.
