A Relationship With Purpose

With nearly 400 Villanovans employed at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), PwC is one of the Villanova School of Business’ (VSB’s) and Villanova’s largest and most dedicated corporate partners. As an organization, PwC recruits on campus, and its employees participate in many professional development and leadership events on campus.

The VSB alumni at PwC are especially active supporters of the School – volunteering to come to campus to bring corporate experience and perspective to current students, as well as mentoring and advocating for our students.

Valerie Wieman ’92 VSB, a partner at PwC, is one of our most dedicated Villanova champions. She is the firm’s relationship partner for VSB at PwC, overseeing all aspects of the firm’s recruiting of Villanovans.

Recently she rallied her fellow alumni (and some parents of students and alumni) at PwC to support VSB as a group – leading them to collectively donate a $1 million endowed gift to provide faculty support. The gift will be acknowledged by naming the PwC Auditorium in Bartley Hall.

“PwC has a spectacular relationship with VSB. VSB students are an important source of new hires for us and we want to continue to grow that relationship,” said Wieman.

This firmwide effort pledges to secure this gift by 2015, and Wieman says that PwC likely will surpass its goal by the end of the year. To date, they have received support and gifts from all staff levels from new associate through partner.

“Valerie’s leadership in rallying and inspiring her fellow Villanovans is a great example of the power of

relationships and connections,” said Patrick G. Maggitti, PhD, The Helen and William O’Toole Dean of the Villanova School of Business. “Her efforts and the support of fellow Villanovans at PwC ensure opportunities for our students to learn from world-class faculty.”
