Villanova’s new Chief Information Officer, Kelly P. Doney, guides the direction of the University-wide information technology program and infrastructure to meet the varied and complex needs of the University.

Doney brings more than 20 years of experience to the role, with a track record of strong leadership and adaptability in navigating the ever-changing technological landscape in higher education. She most recently served as vice president at Ellucian, a global market leader in higher education technology. Prior to that, she held a leadership position at Georgetown University, where her efforts helped the university gain industry recognition for innovation in moving core technologies to the cloud.

“I have seen firsthand how technology can transform the student experience, enhance the research mission and enrich teaching and learning,” Doney says. “I am excited to be at a university that clearly embraces the critical role technology will play in shaping the future, now more than ever.”

“The CIO position requires a visionary leader with expertise in both business and technical practices of the University, and Kelly has that vision, along with the expertise, to lead Villanova in this area as we move into the next decade.”
