Purpose
The Annual Dean's Awards Dinner was initiated in 1976 in order to recognize senior engineering students for their academic achievement and /or their meaningful contributions and service provided to the College of Engineering during their time at Villanova.
Award Recipient Criteria
Academic Excellence
An undergraduate engineering student must be a senior, majoring in engineering, with a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.50 at the end of the Fall term, who will graduate within the current academic year.
Recipients of this award are chosen by the Dean of Engineering.
Meritorious Service
An undergraduate engineering student must be a senior, majoring in engineering, who has been active in an engineering student organization, and has given significant and quality service to the College over an extended period of time.
Recipients may be self-nominated, or nominated by fellow students, faculty, staff and/or administrators. Nominees are reviewed by a peer review committee with the final approval of the Dean of Engineering Office.
When it is held
The Dean's Awards Dinner is held in late April.
By Invitation Only
Senior engineering students who will be receiving either the Academic Excellence and/or Meritorious Service Award will receive an email invitation to this event. Faculty and Staff of the College of Engineering, and special guests of the Dean, are also invited to join the Dean in congratulating these seniors for their accomplishments.
