Community First: IT'S UP TO YOU

August 13, 2020

Dear Members of the Villanova Community,

This week, we welcomed new students to our campus community, and this weekend, our upper-class students will return. As our campus repopulates with our students, faculty and staff, I want to send an important reminder.

IT’S UP TO YOU.

Your actions significantly impact every single person on this campus. If you follow the guidelines we have set up—wearing a mask at all times, washing your hands frequently, social distancing and staying home when you are sick—we can make this semester on campus work. And what do I mean by make this work? I mean:

  • Keep you healthy and safe.
  • Keep you on campus, and keep campus open.

Let me be perfectly clear, if we don’t do these things, YOU WILL BE SENT HOME and more importantly, our community members’ health will be at risk.

I want students here who are willing to follow these guidelines and put Community First—at all times. If you can’t or won’t commit to this new way of doing things, then you shouldn’t be here. It’s as simple as that. To those of you who have been following these guidelines, thank you and keep up the good work.

We all need to adapt NOW to this new normal and way of doing things—for our good and the good of others.

Sincerely,
