NOVAfit! is Villanova University's health and wellness initiative that all faculty and staff are welcome to join.

Our program includes personal health assessments, access to health coaches and a website with support tools and resources. While participation is completely voluntary and your privacy is protected, we strongly encourage everyone to participate and take advantage of the benefits the program has to offer. Together, we can work towards making Villanova a healthier community.

Six Pillars

NOVAfit! programming pulls together resources from across the University so that our employees and their families can live their lives to the fullest. Guided by the "Six Pillars of Health and Wellness" the NOVAfit! program provides the support for you to develop your physical, nutritional, financial, emotional, social, and spiritual health. 

 

EMPLOYEE WALKING GROUP

Join us for a 15-20 minute walk around campus with your fellow colleagues! We meet on at noon next to the OREO. Days of the walks are announced each week via Campus Currents. 

WELLBEATS

Wellbeats is the University's wellness portal. Through Wellbeats, you have access to:

  • 1,000+ high-quality workouts including yoga, HIIT, strength training, walking and running, barre, Pilates, and cycling
  • 30+ health and wellness programs to help you reach your goals
  • Nutrition education and healthy recipes
  • Mindfulness and meditations
  • Stretching and recovery
  • 1-5 minute office breaks
  • And much more!

Classes are available 24/7 and are for all ages, levels, abilities and interests.

HEALTH COACH

Sometimes, you just need a quick answer to a health-related question that doesn’t require immediate medical treatment or a physician visit. Health Coaches are registered nurses who are available 24/7 to answer your health-related questions and address your concerns. 

To reach a Health Coach, call 1-800-ASK-BLUE (1-800-275-2583). This resource is free to IBC members.

Villanova employees enrolled in a Villanova sponsored medical plan are offered six free nutrition counseling sessions per plan year with any dietitian approved as an IBX provider. Schedule an appointment with Villanova's employee wellness dietitian.

STAFF APPRECIATION

Each year, Villanova hosts a Staff Christmas Lunch in December and a Staff Appreciation Week in May which includes a staff picnic.

EMPLOYEE RESOURCE GROUPS

Employee Resource Groups (ERG), sometimes referred to as affinity groups, are used to provide support and engagement to University employees. These groups may focus on specific interests or identities and offer a variety of experiences, but they are not closed groups, and they welcome supporters and allies. ERGs function as a structure within ODEI and work in coordination with Human Resources.
