Villanova University President the Rev. Peter M. Donohue, OSA, PhD, today announced a $13 million gift from Charles Widger, Esq., ’73 JD and Barbara Widger that will propel the Charles Widger School of Law to the forefront of professional development and leadership programming in legal education.
Villanova Law brings practitioners and scholars to campus each year through the ongoing Visiting Assistant Professor program, providing them guidance and mentorship as they prepare for careers in academia. This year, Villanova Law welcomes four visiting faculty members—Lev Breydo, Zviko Chadambuka, Luke Repici and Abel Rodríguez—for the 2021-2022 academic year. The Law School is also welcoming a new Clinical Fellow—Catherine Kapples—to teach and advise students in the Clinical Program. These individuals bring impressive credentials in both scholarship and practice to the Villanova Law classroom.
The 222 incoming students from Class of 2024 began their Villanova experience on August 18, 2021 with three days of orientation activities, culminating in a community picnic with faculty, staff and current students. In a welcome address from Mark C. Alexander, The Arthur J. Kania Dean, students were urged to be leaders in the law and the world.
